We Handle Cases All Across Texas

Our principle office is located in Lantana, Texas in the DFW area. We handle cases anywhere in Texas from South Texas to deep East Texas to Northwest Texas near the Oklahoma border and in between.

All cases in Texas are filed by the efile system, electronically. In the old days, an attorney would have to hand deliver a filing to the clerk or send it by mail, FedEx, or, UPS and be physically present for all hearings. With the advent of e-filing, everything is filed electronically and instantaneously. Hearings are held by Zoom. There is not need to be physically in the location where the trial is except for trial itself.

Hearings used to be conducted in the county where the suit was filed. In my career, I have had to travel 250 miles for a 20 minute hearing. Not any more. Because of the Covid-19 problems, more and more judges are using Zoom or something similar to conduct hearings. Even mediations are being conducted remotely.

Of course, trials will still be conducted in the county where the probate is filed but everything else is done through the efile system.

Tell me what happened

Write to me through the contact form: what happened, roughly when, and who is involved. I read these myself. Writing means our first conversation can be about your situation instead of getting me up to speed.

This page is general information about Texas law. It is not legal advice about your situation, and reading it does not create an attorney–client relationship. These matters turn heavily on specific facts and specific dates, and the law has exceptions this page does not cover. You should not take, or refrain from taking, any action based on this page. Discuss your circumstances with an attorney who can advise you on them.
